Haring (1958-90) brings together more than
one hundred pieces, including the artist's large,
ambitious paintings and his early drawings,
some salvaged from New York City's subways.
The exhibition traces the evolution of the
artist's bold graphic style from his student years
until his death from AIDS at the age of
thirty-one. It also documents, through
photography and video, site-specific works
Haring made for public galleries in the U.S. and
abroad. This is a traveling exhibition organized
by the Whitney Museum of American Art, New
York. A catalogue will accompany the show. "

| Exposition. Snapshots: Photography of Everyday Life "This exhibition brings together an exemplary
group of over two hundred and fifty original
snapshots and albums, selected to demonstrate
the potential for untutored, often accidental
works of art possible only with photography.
These works illustrate the importance of amateur
domestic photography to the preservation of
family histories and cultural memory, in a form
that has retained its aura of authenticity and
directness for more than one hundred years.
Snapshots will interrogate photography's
status as a museum art by confronting the
power of this alternative, vernacular tradition,
through an exhibition that will prove both
provocative and visually delightful. "
