Works presented range from independent artists videos made in the seventies as a revolt against mainstream television and the institutionalized art world to feature films, narrative and experimental films and videos, music videos and commercials. Among the over one hundred makers Sadie Benning, Kathryn Bigelow, Chris Cunningham, Joan Jonas, Stanley Kwan, Chris Marker, Kirsten Moser, Pelechian, Floria Sigismundi and Lawrence Weiner...American artist John Baldessari has realized a special project, which functions as a framework for Home Screen Home. "

The walls of the exhibition spaces of Witte de With were covered with wallpaper designed by Baldessari, in combination with photographs of lamps and plants. With its reference to the home as the setting for watching television, junkfood and TV dinners, the wallpaper installation was an ironic comment on television culture.
