Notes : "The first retrospective exhibition of the works of this acclaimed American artist synthesizes all aspects of his career. He is an American renaissance man who has mastered many media to express his uplifting and influential message of hope. Parks was born in 1912 and has overcome adversity, including poverty and racism, to rise to the top of his various professions.
This exhibition places, for the first time, Parks's photography within the context of all his work, and reveals its importance to the social and cultural history of the twentieth century. It features approximately 220 photographs, accompanied by films, music, paintings, as well as manuscripts of poems, novels and other writing by Parks. The presentation ultimately tells the story of his life through his work: photographs, films, music, poetry, and writing, allowing visitors to see through his eyes and hear through his ears."
